Body Part Replacement Kit

Here’s another funny gift idea I found.

You can find this body part replacement kit here. Isn’t this a cute idea? It’s another gag gift - like most of them, I think. But it pokes fun at the idea of losing functionality in your body parts as you get older. Thankfully George doesn’t have to worry about any of that quite yet, but this might serve as a good reminder for him to keep in shape so he can stave it off longer! This kit is like those things you get for your kids where you put it in the bathtub and it grows over time. It says that in 72 hours, the body parts get 600% bigger. I’m not sure how big that is, but I’d imagine it’s probably around the size of a regular body part - maybe a little bigger for the ears and nose. Not that the size really matters, it’ll be a fun little gift either way. It’s pretty cheap, so this looks like something I could possibly stuff in goodie bags for our guests for the party, depending on how many people come. At the very least, I think I’ll get some for our closest friends. I’m sure everybody will get a kick out of these, George included! I think anybody around our age can appreciate a funny gag gift like that. So I think I’ll get these! But this is going to be a little goodie bag gift, so I still have to keep searching for gifts for George, then. Keep checking back as I post more gift ideas I come up with!

Golfer Survival Kit

Well, here we go, first real post with content. Here’s the first gift idea that I had.

It’s called a golfer’s survival kit and you can find it here. It’s kind of a gag gift, it looks like, but that’s probably the best kind, right? I guess I should figure out whether I’m going to get him a gag gift or a serious one. Well, actually I think I’ll just get whatever gift I think is best, whether it’s gag or serious. Anyways, I thought this was kind of appropriate. George doesn’t play golf yet, but he’s going to start soon, I bet: his boss just invited him a little while ago to play with him. I guess that’s a sign of being high up in the company, according to George (I will never understand why) so I bet he’s going to be playing a lot more golf in the future. So this could be kind of a cute little gift to get him to tie into that. All the things in there are so funny - a grass-scented air freshener? And those signs? Too cute. It doesn’t look very big though, so it would have to get paired with other gifts. Which I think is what I’m going to do anyways. But this might be a nice little thing to tack on to whatever else I get him. On the other hand, I could imagine that this might just be kind of tacky and useless... would any of you out there get this for your golfing birthday boys?

Hi

So, this is my first blog post. I hope I’m doing it right. I’m not the most technologically savvy person out there. Anyways, hi. I’m Lianna. My husband George is having his 50th birthday soon, and I’m planning him a surprise party for it. I’ve got plenty of experience throwing parties - after two sons and countless friends’ parties, you might say I’m sort of an expert - but the one thing I don’t know what to do is what gift to get George. So I’m starting this blog so I can post some of my gift ideas here and get feedback. Also, I think I’ll post some tips regarding what I’m doing for other aspects of the party, like decorations, so that maybe someone can learn a thing or two reading my blog, too. But mostly, I just want to figure out the perfect gift to get George for his birthday. Hopefully, talking about it with all of you here on this blog, I’ll be able to.
